If you’re a farmer, then you know the importance of fertilizer. Fertilizer helps crops grow big and strong, and it can help increase yields. But with so many different types of fertilizer on the market, it can be difficult to know which one to choose. In this blog post, we will discuss 30-0-4 fertilizer and its uses. We’ll also provide tips on how to apply it correctly!

What Does 30-0-4 Fertilizer Mean?

30-0-4 fertilizer is a blend of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The numbers represent the percentage of each element in the blend. For example, a 30-0-4 fertilizer contains 30% nitrogen, 0% phosphorus and 4% potassium.  As the name suggests, that fertilizer is a nitrogen-rich blend.

What is 30-0-4 Fertilizer Good for?

This type of fertilizer is good for promoting vegetative growth and healthy root systems. It can be applied to most plants at various points during their growth cycles with good results. For example, you might use 30-0-4 as a pre-planting treatment for new seeds or young plants, as a foliar feed during midsummer heatwaves, or as a late-season supplement to help plants develop blooms.

This fertilizer is also good for fruit trees, which can benefit from the nitrogen boost in early spring. It will encourage healthy vegetative growth while also improving roots and stems.

When to Use It?

The best time to apply 30-0-04 fertilizer is in the early spring before new growth begins. This allows the nutrients to be readily available when plants start growing again after winter dormancy. If you are fertilizing lawns or gardens, it’s also recommended that you water right after application so that the product penetrates deeply into the soil.

You can also apply it again in late summer or early fall, especially if your tree is producing a lot of fruit. This will help ensure that the tree has all the nutrients it needs to keep bearing fruit until the end of the season.

30-0-4 fertilizer should not be applied during winter months, as it can damage trees that are dormant at that time.

Please consult with an arborist before using 30-0-4 fertilizer on any type of tree to make sure you’re applying it correctly and not harming the health of your plant.

How to Use 30-0-4 Fertilizer?

30-0-4 fertilizer is a balanced formulation that is used to meet the needs of both plants and soil. It can be used as a side-dress or top-dress application for lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, flowers, and other ornamentals. When using 30-0-4 fertilizer as a topdressing on turfgrass, it should be applied at a rate of 0.75 pounds per thousand square feet. For gardens and flower beds, the recommended application rate is one pound per thousand square feet.

For trees and shrubs, the recommended dosage depends on the size of the plant. Smaller plants (less than three inches in diameter) should be fertilized with 0.25 pounds of 30-0-4 fertilizer per thousand square feet of soil. Larger plants (up to 12 inches in diameter) should be fertilized with 0.75 pounds per thousand square feet of soil.

For lawns and gardens, 30-0-4 fertilizer can be applied at a rate of one pound per 100 square feet or one cupful every three feet.
